The potable water and sanitation sector in various governorates of Egypt (cities and villages) is witnessing a breakthrough in the development of water projects and the establishment of an integrated infrastructure with the aim of fortifying water resources, providing a clean water cup, and introducing sanitation service to deprived areas in cities and villages.
The project of establishing and developing the farms of Toshka and East Oweinat is one of the vital projects contributing to the reconstruction of West Aswan (Toshka) and providingĀ services to the staff of implementation of palm farm which considered one of the most prominent projects to produce date , the main elements for the implementation of the project are drinking water purification plants and sewage treatment plants with the aim of delivering potable water and sewage treatment to new villages that were built to revive New Toshka and East Owainat.
First: drinking water purification plants.
The project feature is summarized in transporting water from Lake Toshka through the water treatment plant to purify it from impurities and chlorine, filtering the water in multi-media filters and storing it in balancing tanks until it is fully prepared for human use.
In cooperation with Orascom and El-Zahi companies which they carried out irrigation and civil works, we carried out the mechanical works of this project which include making integrated station to purify the Nile water to make it potable by carrying out some civil , mechanical and electrical works
The project was implemented in three phases:
The first phase: Implementation of a drinking water purification plant with a capacity of 150 m3/day in 2020 for the central region.
The second phase: the establishment of 11 drinking water purification plants with a capacity of 80 m3/day, with the aim of providing services to the East Al Owainat region in 2021.
The third phase: the establishment of 11 drinking water purification plants, with a capacity of 80 m3/day, to provide services to the West Owainat region in 2021.
Implementation has been done successfully according to the presented time schedule from national company for general contracting and supplies (NSPO) and stations are running.
Design and implement a water purification plant in terms of civil, mechanical and electrical works and then operation and maintenance for 1 year.
- Receiving water from the lines branching from main line of toshqa canal into purification plants.
- The water collected inside tanks to calm its flow so that its easy to control its pumping.
- We use pumps to pump water into multi-media carbonic sandy filter to rip out any impurities or smell so that getting filtered water of percentage not less than 95%
- To prevent creating any undesirable bacteria, here chlorine tanks are coming to equalize the chlorine percentage in water to get the required percentage.
- To improve quality and purification of water with a percentage up to 98% the ionic cartridge filter plays a role to purify invisible impurities to get potable water.
- Water is collected in storage tanks which are connected with pumps to distribute water to whole village.
